Frequently asked questions

Wasn’t this app called Leyne? Yes — Departly is the same app under a new name. Your saved stops and settings carry over with normal app updates; nothing to redo.

No buses are showing for a stop. Arrivals come live from LTA DataMall. Outside service hours, or if LTA has no prediction for that service yet, a stop can legitimately show nothing. Pull to refresh, check another stop, and confirm you have a network connection.

It can’t find my location / no nearby stops. Departly needs location access to show nearby stops and stations:

You can still search stops by name, bus number, MRT station, or postal code without location.

How do I save a stop? Open the stop (from Nearby or Search) and tap the bookmark in the top corner. Saved stops live in the Saved tab with live arrivals; press and hold a card there to drag it into your preferred order. Saved stops also still appear in Nearby when you’re close to them.

How do I get an alert before my stop? When you’re tracking a bus on its route screen, tap “Alert me 1 stop before” at the bottom. You’ll get a notification as the bus approaches the stop before yours. Notifications permission is asked once during onboarding; you can change it later in system settings.

What do the MRT crowd bars mean? Station screens show the platform crowd live (Low / Moderate / High, from LTA’s real-time feed) and a forecast for the rest of today in half-hour steps, so you can time your trip around the crush. Late at night, after the last train window, the forecast reads “Service has ended for today” — that’s expected, not a bug.

What does the ARRIVING capsule mean? Any service whose next bus is about a minute or less away gets the ARRIVING treatment on its row — that bus is pulling in now.

Where are the widgets? On your Home Screen, on both platforms:

Why do I see ads, and are they tracking me? Departly is free and shows ads via Google AdMob. On first launch you’re asked for consent — a Google consent form where it’s required (e.g. the EEA/UK), and on iOS, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow tracking, ads can be personalized using your device’s advertising identifier; if you decline, you still see ads, but non-personalized ones. You can change this anytime:
